Research Policy

University Partners in CHMR-Sponsored Research

Each CHMR-sponsored research project must have a principal investigator and/or a co-principal investigator, and a faculty member from one of the participating universities in the CHMR network.  Faculty from nonnetwork universities may participate only if the above condition is met.

Member Participation in CHMR Research Projects

Members are not required to participate in every CHMR research project. It is essential, however, that an adequate number of organizations participate to carry out the research. Research results are always shared equally with all active CHMR members.

Project Advisory Committee (PAC)

Each funded CHMR research project is required to have a project advisory committee (PAC). This committee provides advice and counsel to the research team throughout the life of the project, and serves as liaison between the researchers and CHMR leadership. Members have the right, but not necessarily the obligation, to name one individual from their organization to each PAC.

Indirect Cost Policy on CHMR-Sponsored Research Projects

CHMR pays 9 percent indirect costs to participating universities or to other entities with which they may subcontract.  CHMR does not pay indirect costs for commissioned papers.
