The Center for Health Management Research (CHMR), a program of the Health Research & Educational Trust, an affiliate of the American Hospital Association, is a unique collaborative among hospitals and health system leaders and academic university leaders from around the country. Throughout the history of CHMR, the focus has been on the development and growth of hospitals and health care systems. CHMR is staffed by two co-directors, Douglas A. Conrad, PhD, University of Washington School of Public Health and Community Medicine, and Thomas G. Rundall, PhD, University of California at Berkeley, School of Public Health, and Nadine Caputo, MS, HRET. The CHMR leadership works closely with members and academic universities to identify and investigate topics of interest to members and their organizations.
