America will not be satisfied unless and until the costs of health coverage and health care are affordable. HRET and its partners are exploring ways for all health care providers to make care more efficient, particularly through the use of health information technology.
 
HRET and the Alliance of Chicago Community Health Services are studying the utility of electronic health records in tracking and better addressing the needs of specific patient populations. This two-year project, through the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality’s ACTION initiative, will explore how health IT can improve the efficiency of care for patients who receive treatment for HIV and those who need cervical cancer screening.
