Driving Impact in 2016

A Message from Our President

The Health Research & Educational Trust is a leader in creating healthy communities, accelerating performance improvement and driving innovation in care delivery. HRET leads national improvement projects and partners with national organizations and allied hospital associations to explore cutting-edge issues in the field.

HRET offers a wide variety of learning opportunities and educational resources for front-line staff, managers, physicians and C-suite executives at hospitals and health systems.

HRET is committed to Advancing Health in America, the American Hospital Association’s Path Forward, which guides the AHA, member hospitals and other stakeholders toward evolution of hospitals and health systems of the future. The Path Forward is anchored by the AHA’s five commitments: access, value, partners, well-being and coordination.

In 2016, HRET collaborated with national, state and regional partners to expand our work and impact in several areas: High-Reliability Organizations, Population Health, Emerging Models of Care and Team-Based Care.

Explore HRET’s work in these practice areas as you navigate this page. You can view the HRET Highlights infographic for a snapshot of HRET’s impact in 2016.

We at the AHA will continue to work collaboratively in the field to help hospitals and health systems meet the challenges and opportunities ahead.

Jay Bhatt, D.O.
President, Health Research & Educational Trust
Chief Medical Officer, American Hospital Association
